Policy Purpose
Reliable attendance is essential to store operations, customer satisfaction, and overall team performance. This policy defines how attendance is tracked, how points are assigned, and the corrective actions tied to point thresholds.
Point Assessment System
Points are assessed as follows:

Tardy (more than 6 minutes late)

Early departure (more than 6 minutes early)

Late return from lunch or break (over 6 minutes)

Patterned behavior (3+ similar events per month)
Review
Points reset every 12 months if the employee has no new violations.Protected absences (FMLA, jury duty, bereavement, etc.) do not result in points.
Approved PTO does not count as an occurrence.
Failure to notify a supervisor may elevate the point value assigned.

Definitions
Occurrence: Any single instance of absence, tardiness, early departure, or violation of attendance expectations.
Protected Absence: Absences that are covered by law or approved in writing (e.g., FMLA, bereavement).
Unexcused Absence: Any missed shift or time away without proper documentation or prior approval.
Employee Responsibilities
Notify your direct supervisor as early as possible if you will be late or absent.
Follow your store’s call-in procedures without exception.
Track your own attendance, and reach out to management if you have questions about your status.
