Rymco LLC Severe Weather Guidelines
Applies to: All Retail Store and Traveling Team Members
Effective: May 2025
⚠️ General Safety Comes First
If there is immediate risk due to weather (tornado, flood, ice, etc.), your safety is the top priority.
Always follow local emergency alerts and shelter-in-place directives.
Communicate with your District Manager or direct supervisor as soon as possible if weather disrupts your ability to work.
🌪️ For Retail Store Employees
When Severe Weather is Forecasted:
Check the weather daily using reliable sources such as NOAA, Weather.com, or local alerts.
Ensure that emergency contact information is visible and accurate in the store.
Secure all exterior displays and marketing materials.
Know where the designated safe area is inside the store (interior rooms without windows).
If There Is an Active Weather Warning (e.g., Tornado, Flood):
Lock the doors before taking shelter to ensure no one enters during unsafe conditions.
Take shelter immediately with any customers in the store.
Notify your District Manager when it is safe to do so.
If the Store Experiences Damage:
Call 911 if there is any immediate danger or injury.
Contact your District Manager and submit a Facility Issue Report with photos once safe.
🚗 For Traveling Team Members (Including Field Support and District Managers)
Before You Travel:
Check weather conditions along your entire planned route.
If storms, ice, or tornado warnings are present, delay or cancel travel and notify your direct supervisor.
Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle:
Mobile phone charger or battery pack
Blanket
First aid kit
Flashlight
Bottled water and snacks
During Severe Weather:
Avoid travel in high-risk conditions such as tornado watches or warnings, flooding, ice, or heavy snow.
Stay within your local area until conditions improve.
If you are caught in severe weather:
Do not drive through flooded roads.
Find a safe, enclosed structure and wait for the weather to clear.
Notify your direct supervisor once you are safe.
📲 Communication Expectations
All team members are expected to check in with their direct manager by phone call if severe weather prevents them from:
Reporting to their store
Visiting assigned store locations
Completing their scheduled route
Rymco LLC leadership may use group messaging systems for company-wide safety updates. Keep your phone charged and accessible at all times.
✅ Store Managers Should:
Ensure all team members are trained on this safety protocol.
Review the shelter location and emergency plan with staff on a regular basis (at least quarterly).
Maintain any emergency supplies provided by the company.
🛑 Store Closure Guidelines
All store closures due to weather must be approved by senior leadership.
Store Managers should never close a store independently unless there is a direct safety concern.
In that case, immediately notify your District Manager once you are safe.
